The purpose of the present study was to determine the relationship between intelligence and perceptual motor performance in fourth grade students. An intact fourth grade class consisting of ten males and ten females was administered tests reflecting their intelligence and perceptual motor performance levels.

This study investigated the validity of the general ability factor, Factor B of the Early School Personality Questionnaire(ESPQ), in two ways. First, validity coefficients for Factor B were obtained by computing product-moment correlation coefficients between the ESPQ Factor B raw scores of 40 developmentally disabled subjects and their raw scores on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R). Second, the Kruskal-Wallis rank sums test and a distribution-free multiple comparisons test were employed to determine if there were significant differences among the mean ESPQ Factor B raw scores of subjects designated as mentally retarded, learning disabled, or normal. Effects Of Verbal Reinforcement On Children's Responses To Three Subtests Of The Wechsler Intelligence Scale For Children, James Thomas Russell Jr.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of positive verbal reinforcement on the responses to three subtests of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children. The subtests were comprehension, similarities, and vocabulary. These three subtests were given to thirty children of the Geary County, Kansas, Unified School System, whose chronological age ranged from ten years, one month to ten years, eleven months. Their intelligence quotients ranged from ninety-five to one hundred and five.

The responses to the three subtests were analyzed statistically. The results indicated that positive verbal reinforcement did significantly change the amount of verbal production and …
