The purpose of this study was to survey the knowledge and attitudes among Graduate counseling students toward transracial adoption, at a private university in the midwest. This study used a questionnaire designed to gather information on racial issues, parental roles, risk to a successful adoption and the graduate's education and training. The purpose of this survey was to determine if graduates believed that the counseling services they received at Belleville Area College contributed to their academic success . A survey was conducted utilizing 181 graduates (111 females and 70 males) from a May 1996 graduate class of 696 students . Academic success is defined as the completion of a degree . The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between spirituality and counseling in holistic health . Forty clients and forty therapists, both male and female, from varying economic and educational backgrounds completed a one- page self-report attitudinal survey regarding the place of religion and spirituality in their life and therapeutic sessions. Each ranked issues such as forgiveness, prayer, healing in relationships, grief, death, and afterlife as to the frequency with which they arose in therapy . Student Satisfaction With A Community College's Counseling Services: Gender And Race Differences, Carla Denise Noto

Forty-five community college students (8 males and 37 females) were surveyed to determine their level of satisfaction with counseling services offered at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley. The three areas of counseling explored were academic counseling, career counseling, and personal counseling. Results indicated that neither the gender of the student n or the ethnic group the student belonged to related to the level of satisfaction he/she received from any of the three areas of counseling. Academic counseling was found to have the highest satisfaction rankings and Personal counseling was found to have the lowest. ii

For much of its hi story career counseling has focused on the career needs of the unemployed (Herr, 1989). Career concerns were more oriented to economic health, to change of an occupation, to the development of pre-vocational ski I ls and the preparation for work. Over the years an ever increasing amount of research has indicated the unemployed suffer many personal needs as a consequence of unemployment (Borgen & Amundsen, 1984; Kasi, Gore, & Cobb, 1975) in addition to career needs. The author and a female client use dreams as the vehicle in counseling, following theoretical and practical considerations outlined by C.G. Jung. Included are discussions of theory, the function of dreams and dream symbols, selected dreams, and the content of some of the sessions. The author and the client met for one hour per week over a period of three months for a total of twelve sessions. Both recorded their impressions and experiences in journals during this period. This monograph addresses some of the specific problems related to counseling parents of defective newborns. It describes the experience of the writer over a five year period, 1972- 1977, in the neonatal unit of Goergetown University Hospital , Washington, D.C. During this period approximately two hundred fifty parents of defective newborns and may times that number of parent of children with lesser problems, utilized the hospital's services. My direct counseling experience was with thirty of these parents during the process of making the very difficult decisions about continuing support care for their critically ill infants.

This paper discusses conceptual and experiential aspects of helping male homosexuals who have problems in achieving pleasurable and satisfying sexual experiences . New helping modalities, particularly those of Masters and Johnson , are explored in the context of a case study of a single 28 year old male who was able during the course of the counseling relationship to attain greater sexual pleasure and emotional satisfaction both by himself and with a partner by breaking out of a pattern of unfulfilling masturbation .
