This collection contains a variety of materials relating to the Community Concert Association and its activities including various programs, PR information, photos, correspondence, worker record sheets, and membership lists of the organization over the years. The collection dates from about 1944 to 1985. However, the only years that contain explicit detail about the organization are between the years of 1976 and 1985. There is not a great deal of historical information about how the Community Concert Association began. The collection ends at 1985.

The inclusive dates of this collection are 1588 to 2001.The bulk dates of this collection are 1900 to 1970. These materials vary in size with the majority being being oversized. The majority of the maps in this collections are orginal with a few reproductions.

Mindfulness, the trait or state of heightened attention and awareness of the present moment, has been connected to a wide variety of self-regulatory behaviors, including health behaviors. Specifically, mindfulness has been linked to smoking cessation (Heppner et al., 2015), reduced alcohol misuse (Murphy & MacKillop, 2011), and reduced substance abuse (Witkiewitz & Bowen, 2010). Additionally, mindfulness-based dialectical behavior therapy has been successful in teaching affect regulation skills to patients with binge eating disorder (BED). BED patients were also more adept in using these regulation skills during negative affect experiences (Kristeller, Baer, & Quillian-Wolever, 2006). Even though research links mindfulness to …

The minutes of the meetings of the Milledgeville Audubon Society range from its inception in 1930 through November of 1968. The society first met at the Baptist Church on December 8, 1930 with 8 members. At the 2nd meeting on January 5, 1931, the "Constitution" was presented and adopted. In the beginning, it was also called the "Bird Club." The main purpose at the onset of the society was for the protection of migratory birds, and teaching young people about the preservation of birdlife. The M.A.S. was a member of the Georgia and National Ornithological Societies.

Latinos are considered the fastest growing and the largest ethnic minority group in the United States. It is estimated that by 2050, 24% of the U.S. population will be Latino. According to Census data, approximately 18% of the U.S. population age five or older speaks a language other than English at home, and current projections continue to show increases in U.S. immigrant and second-language groups nationwide. Despite the proliferation of residency programs, institutes, and scholar- ships designed to increase the numbers of African American and other academic librarians of color, academic librarianship, in contrast to the American population, continues to lacks racial diversity. According to the American Library Association’s most recent Diversity Counts report, credentialed academic librarians are 86.1% white. African Americans make up 12.6% of the American population, but only account for 5.4% of credentialed academic librarians.
