Questions about immigration not only took center stage in last year’s presidential election, but they also proved to be extremely divisive for the country. Many people have a “sense” of why immigration is good or bad for the United States, sometimes formed on the basis of a specific story that shows a good or bad outcome, sometimes based on a broader utopian or dystopian view of the world.
