The Post-Pandemic Job Market For Academic Librarians In The Southeast United States, Louise Lowe, J B. Hill, Jenna Eastwood Hill, Claresta Icasia

This study examines the state of the post-pandemic academic library job market in the Southeastern region of the United States. This analysis of academic librarian job advertisements collected from 2022 and 2023 reveals that while some new jobs have emerged there is a continued demand for traditional roles, prior work experience and the ALA-accredited master’s degree. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are prominent in job advertisements despite some regional political opposition. Remote work options are limited, signaling a nuanced approach to work modality post-pandemic.

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic drove most users online, chat was establishing itself as a core service for asking library-related questions of many types, from basic directional and reference to research queries of a more sophisticated nature. This investigation seeks to provide insight into how academic libraries are seen not only as a source of library assistance, but also as a means of filling an information gap on a wider subject: the university campus at large. Listeners describe "tingles" as the ASMR experience, but many others enjoy ASMR even if they don't get tingles. ASMR videos have grown in popularity over the years. Recently, they made a resurgence on TikTok, even in parody form (think of the viral Mercedes ASMR video and all of the responses). Becca and Robin have utilized ASMR videos for relaxation and stress-management for the past 10 years. Beryl and Becca thought this could be a great resource for students.

Evaluating Ai Literacy In Academic Libraries: A Survey Study With A Focus On U.S. Employees, Leo S. Lo

This survey investigates artificial intelligence (AI) literacy among academic library employees, predominantly in the United States, with a total of 760 respondents. The findings reveal a moderate self-rated understanding of AI concepts, limited hands-on experience with AI tools, and notable gaps in discussing ethical implications and collaborating on AI projects. Despite recognizing the benefits, readiness for implementation appears low among participants. Respondents emphasize the need for comprehensive training and the establishment of ethical guidelines.
