Although it is not possible to ascertain with certainty the mood of an entire country at a particular time in history, films of an era can reflect glimpses of the prevalent milieu of a society. The films of the 1 930s reflect a grim view of life as Americans struggle to overcome the Great Depression, while films of the 1940s espouse great patriotism as Americans fight for freedom in World War II. Walking Through The Darkness: Pastoral Care To Survivors Of Traumatic Loss, Mary M. Price

The aim of this thesis is to define and expand on the experience of traumatic loss and to examine the helpful role that pastoral caregivers play in supporting survivors of traumatic loss. The thesis will discuss and analyze theological and psychological responses to traumatic loss that are both "life-giving" or growth-oriented and "life-limiting" or growth-inhibiting. Its goal is to serve as a guide for pastoral caregivers who are caring for with bereaved people "walking through the darkness" of traumatic loss.

Implementation Intentions: Examining The Social Implications Of Establishing Metacognitive Processes Which Bypass The Neuropsychological Planning Fallacy Of Self-Employed Adult Individuals With Asperger's Syndrome, Kate Palmer

This final project will be examining how to bypass the neuropsychological cognitive executive functioning errors that lead to a planning fallacy, a continual underestimation of task duration even with knowledge of correct estimation, of adult individuals with Asperger's Syndrome. Due to these errors, many of these individuals look to self-employment as an economic solution to the rigid constraints of the existing occupational environment. Although self-employment is a viable option, the errors need to be corrected for successful ventures. The proper means to correct these errors is through the use of metacognitive processes called implementation intentions; which create concrete plans of …
