The purpose of the present study was to compare the cognitive emotion regulation strategies among normal persons and persons in methadone or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) treatment programs. This causal–comparable study enrolled all addicted persons from Kangavar, Iran. The study population comprised 80 participants in methadone and NA treatment programs who were divided into two groups of 40 persons per group. Participants were selected by the simple random sampling method. An additional 40 persons were chosen as the normal group.
