The Moving Image Work-Level Records Task Force of Online Audiovisual Catalogers (OLAC) Cataloging Policy Committee (CAPC) was charged with investigating and making recommendations on issues related to FRBR-based work-level records for moving image materials, including, but not limited to:
- Identifying characteristics of moving image works (possibly with some indication of relative importance) that should be included in work-level records and creating operational definitions of these characteristics.
- Identifying potential sources of information about these characteristics and examining the reliability of these sources.

Guide To Cataloging Playaway Devices Based On Aacr2 Chapters 6 And 9, Heidi Frank, Bill Anderson, Joe Bartl, Robert B. Freeborn, Jay Weitz

Playaway devices were developed in 2005 by Findaway World LLC. (http://store.playawaydigital.com/). A Playaway is described as a “self-playing digital audio book” and is a device that contains a pre-loaded audio file in a proprietary format called ACELP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algebraic_Code_Excited_Linear_Prediction). The device requires one AAA battery and a set of earphones for playback and listening. Playaways contain almost exclusively spoken word recordings, but some musical content is available as well. According to the distributor, the focus of Playaways will remain audiobooks. Given the nature of a Playaway device, these materials include aspects of both sound recordings and electronic resources. The focus of this study is the problem of first language (L1) transfer of cultural prototypes to specific L2 lexical items. This paper will provide a method for identifying and understanding cultural nuances in the meaning of words during the process of learning. An explanation of the learning process will be presented and the iconic or the prototypical level of cross-cultural communication will be analyzed. The APP will present a teaching approach on how to ascertain the L1 cultural prototypes being transferred to specific L2 lexical items.
