This paper examines whether Net Foreign Direct Investment between the USA and its major trading partners (USNFDI) is affected by US Net Competitiveness (USNC), US Net Economic Freedom (USEF) and US Net Ease of Doing Business (USNE)(*). Through the use of panel data methodology, the hypothesis that US NFDI is positively affected by USNC, USEF and USNE was tested with data from the Global Competitiveness Report (World Economic Forum), the Index of Economic Freedom (Heritage Foundation), the Ease of Doing Business Index (World Bank) and the World Fact Book (CIA). This paper is an analysis of what is deemed the “immigration crisis” in Europe as it affects the country of Italy. Originally, I had theorized that the effects of the immigration crisis on Italy were due solely to the failings of the Schengen Agreement. However, upon further research, I concluded the problems of the Schengen are only one part of a larger picture that finds its beginnings in the economic problems of Italy. The Relationship Between Stress And Cognitive Functioning, Gabrielle Jasmin

Exposure to stress can negatively impact cognitive functions. The effects can depend on one’s health behaviors and mental health status. Participants in this study completed various surveys asking about their mental health status, their physical activity level, and other important information such as whether or not they take part in mindful meditation practices. In addition, they were randomly separated in two groups: a stress group who experienced the stressful version of the Trier Social Stress Test (TSST; Kirschbaum, Pirke, & Hellhammer, 1993), and a control group who experienced a non-stressful version of TSST. The purpose of this study is to examine musician’s potential to conduct positive social change because of their ability to connect multiple social distinctions. This study will highlight a number of social distinctions that musicians encounter throughout their career and how they either become well-placed individuals through the linkage of these distinctions, or link social distinctions due to their power status.
