Pepperdine, like the majority of universities, is concerned with the copyright of materials posted on the Sakai site. Instructors have been advised to take appropriate steps to address copyright compliance before they post copyrighted materials to the Sakai system.  However, new technology makes copyright issues more complicated. Usually instructors or library staff search their library licensed content and link the content to the Courses site. Both instructors and library staff need faster and easier ways to manage copyright permissions and to set up course readings.  Tools are needed to help instructors and library staff in determining whether the course materials …
