In today’s academic publishing environment, open access journals have become an increasingly common venue for faculty and students, to publish scholarly research. However, this publishing model often prompts many issues and concerns -- one of which is predatory (or, deceptive) publishing practices. These publishers rely on a variety of strategies and deceptive tactics to give the illusion that they are credible and high quality.
