This report from the United States (US Senate Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs, dated August 17, 1954, was written to accompany US House Resolution 2233 which recommended that the United States acquire additional lands for construction of the Oahe Dam. Construction of the Oahe Dam required that the US Government take lands from the Cheyenne River Sioux, similar to the taking of lands from the Three Affiliated Tribes.
