Stereotypes formed during the turn of the 20th century continue to resonate with Chinese today and have resulted in a philo-Semitic viewpoint from many Chinese, a level of admiration not found among Chinese for other non-approved foreign religions. The way Chinese view the Jews and Judaism in modern China can reveal much about China’s aspirations and goals.
