Bangladesh has been hosting nearly a million Rohingyas for the past five years. Since the 1980s, to escape widespread persecution and conflict, Rohingyas have been crossing the border from Myanmar into Bangladesh. Rohingyas are not entitled to, or integrated into, any long-term development agendas of the Bangladesh government. They do not have freedom of movement and permission to work, but they are engaged in some informal income-generating activities in Cox’s Bazar.
