This article was designed to assist the novice researcher in determining if a generic qualitative research approach is appropriate for their intended research or dissertation. The article is intended to offer clarification of the approach and builds upon Caelli, Ray, and Mill’s (2003) call for standardized generic qualitative inquiry guidelines. The purpose of the present study is to describe the use of two focus groups to identify and refine a set of questionnaire items. They were also used to provide descriptions of lived experiences and to realize the importance, or not, of the use of Vending Machines in the university context. Online retailing in India has shown tremendous growth in the recent years. However as compared to the other countries leading in online retailing, India is still in its initial stage of development. The purpose of this study was to explore the factors influencing the online buying behavior of the college students. Convenience sampling method was used to select the sample of 25 college students and qualitative content analysis was used for analyzing the textual content of the depth interview data.
