This presentation will outline the results of a quantitative, non-experimental study conducted with students at a faith-based university in the US to explore the levels of food insecurity on its campus. Growth Mindset And Effect On Black Students’ Academic Achievement In The Iowa City Community School District, Starr Davis

The purpose of this study was to examine how growth mindset affect’s Black students’ academic achievement in the Iowa City Community School District. Using survey data from the Iowa City Community School District, the researchers determined the students’ academic achievement by examining their mindsets. The findings of the study showed that fixed mindsets are detrimental to students’ academic achievement, while growth mindset enhances the achievement levels in Black students.

The purpose of this literature review is to address how internalized and externalized behaviors in adolescents impact academic achievement in faith-based institutions. This research intends to bring awareness to the prevalence of mental health concerns faced by adolescents, as well as the need for mental health services in the education system. Celebration of Research and Creative Scholarship

The 2017-18 Global Church Member Survey conducted by the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is designed to assess the quinquennial Church Strategic Plan (2015-2020). In designing this survey, we considered a variety of theoretical frameworks that could explain relationships between the target outcomes in the Strategic Plan. Six months post-hurricane Maria, a group of 20 Andrews University students and faculty went on a Mental Health mission trip to Puerto Rico. Of the 1.2 million individuals living with HIV, African Americans continue to be the most adversely impacted population in the U.S. (CDC, 2015). While there has been a decrease over time in new HIV infections among this population, statistics indicate that in 2012, African Americans accounted for almost half of those living with HIV (47%) in the U.S. (CDC, 2015). Among those infected men who have sex with men (MSMs), heterosexual males, and heterosexual females account for highest rates of infection among this group in 2010 (CDC, 2015).
