The construction of scientific papers is performed in service of the greater scientific community. This iterative process is, in effect, an academic economy, where all members benefit from well-written papers. However, many published scientific papers are poorly written; they often lack sufficient detail to allow replication, there is improper usage of citations or a lack of regard to relevant work, reporting is vague or without linked empirical data to allow verification, figures do not correspond to text or are non-sensical, literary elements, e.g., bulleted lists, are used ineffectively, formatting renders certain sections unreadable, and grammatical errors abound. Abstract
This study investigated relationship issues in research visibility of Library and Information Science professionals in Imo State. It examined the indices for measuring research visibility of library and information science professionals; and established the relationships between use of research databases, academic networking sites, institutional repository, social media and research visibility of library and information science professionals. ABSTRACT
The study was carried out to investigate research visibility of academic librarians in Imo State: factors, strategies, and challenges. The study was guided by 5 research objectives. The researchers adopted descriptive research survey. The population of the study comprised of 155 academic librarians in 9 institutions of higher learning in Imo State. Both online and face to face questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. Out of 155 copies of questionnaire distributed in both soft and hardcopies, 133 responses were received. This study examined the usage of electronic information resources (EIRs) for improved nursing research and health-care delivery in Nigeria. A descriptive survey method was used for the study. The population consisted of 120 nursing and midwifery students and 5 healthcare providers at Grimmard School of Nursing and Midwifery, Anyigba, Kogi State of Nigeria totalling 125. Five (5) research questions guided the conduct of this study. Analysis and discussion of the study were based on major findings of the study. This study is an empirical study that examined the challenges facing postgraduate students’ use of Electronic Information Resources [EIRs] for research output in federal university libraries in the southeast, Nigeria. It employed a descriptive survey design. The population of the study was registered postgraduate students in five universities libraries in 2017/2018 academic year comprising of 1,522 users.
