Organizational politics is present in every secular establishment including the library with its attendant pros and cons. The paper aims to describe the observed interplay between organizational politics, motivation, and job performance of academic library staff to achieve organizational goals and promote workplace peace and harmony. The study employed a qualitative approach based on personal observation by the researchers and interviews of library managers conveniently selected from four academic libraries in Nigeria; two from the south–south and two from the south–west geopolitical zones. In Enugu State, Nigeria, the researchers investigated the effects of printed library resources on students' motivation and academic achievement in basic science. The study used a quasi-experimental research design using 58 primary 5 pupils in public primary schools in Enugu State. Purposive sampling was used to select a sample size for the study. The achievement exams Basic Science Achievement Test (BSAT) and Motivation Scale were used to collect data (BSMS). Using Kuder-Richardson's formula 20 and the Cronbach Alpha technique, the instruments' reliability indices were judged to be 0.81 and 0.76, respectively. This study examined staff motivation variables and effective library service delivery at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) and Machael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU). Three research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. A linear correlation design was adopted in this study. A census technique was employed to cover the entire population of one hundred and sixty-seven (167) library personnel. The study investigated occupational variables as correlates of the turnover intentions among library personnel in private university libraries in South-South, Nigeria. The study was guided by 2 specific objectives and 2 research questions that determined the relationship between motivation and turnover intention, job performance and turnover intentions of the library personnel.
