This study investigated whether students who scored high in Food Insecurity, would have higher levels of Perceived Stress and lower Sleep Quality. Additionally, this study sought to clarify different types of stressors and their individual contribution to Sleep Quality Risk and Subjective Mental Health. The sample consisted of 65 female undergraduate students at a university in London, Ontario. A Kendall’s tau-b correlation analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between Food Insecurity and Sleep Quality Risk. Personal And Social Characteristics As Predictors Of First-Year Students' Transition To University, Emily L. Pearce Miss

The current study investigated personal (i.e., the Big Five personality traits, academic resilience, and academic engagement) and social characteristics (sense of school belongingness) as predictors of first-year students' transition to university. The study also sought to create a regression model that demonstrated the relative importance of each factor concerning a student's transition while also investigating which factors best predict one's transition overall. The sample consisted of 81 female and two non-binary-identifying students at a university in London, Ontario. A Pearson correlation analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between a student's sense of school belongingness and a successful transition to university. …

The Impact Of Sleep On Academic Burnout With The Effects Of Perceived Stress And General Well-Being, Julia D. Davidson

This study investigated the correlation between sleep deprivation, sleep quality, perceived stress, and general well-being and whether they were risk or protective factors for academic burnout. The sample consisted of 61 female undergraduate students at Brescia University College and participants completed an online questionnaire. A correlational analysis and multiple regression model revealed a significant positive correlation with the three studied factors namely sleep deprivation, sleep quality, and perceived stress with academic burnout. However, general well-being was not significantly correlated. The model that best predicted burnout scores included the variables of sleep deprivation, sleep quality, and perceived stress. This study investigated the association between place attachment and locus of control in students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, it examined how students’ attachments to Brescia University College and London, Ontario predicted internal versus external locus of control, the link between year of study and attachment to Brescia and London, and the correlation between students’ attachments to London and their hometown. A sample of 20 students completed questionnaires which measured attachment to Brescia, attachment to London, attachment to hometown, and locus of control. This study investigated whether students who scored high in Perfectionistic Concerns (i.e., unhealthy perfectionists) would have higher Imposter Phenomenon and stress scores, as well as lower self-efficacy, belonging, and social acceptance scores. Additionally, the study sought to clarify how the two dimensions of perfectionism, Concerns and Strivings, are associated with the Imposter Phenomenon. The sample consisted of 48 female undergraduate students at a university in London, Ontario. A Pearson correlation analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between Perfectionistic Concerns and the Imposter Phenomenon.
