This study investigates a comparison of classification models used to determine aspect based separated text sentiment and predict binary sentiments of movie reviews with genre and aspect specific driving factors. To gain a broader classification analysis, five machine and deep learning algorithms were compared: Logistic Regression (LR), Naive Bayes (NB), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Recurrent Neural Network Long-Short-Term Memory (RNN LSTM). The various movie aspects that are utilized to separate the sentences are determined through aggregating aspect words from lexicon-base, supervised and unsupervised learning. Mining Urban Perceptions From Social Media Data, Yu Liu, Yihong Yuan, Fan Zhang

This vision paper summaries the methods of using social media data (SMD) to measure urban perceptions. We highlight two major types of data sources (i.e., texts and imagery) and two corresponding techniques (i.e., natural language processing and computer vision). Recognizing the data quality issues of SMD, we propose three criteria for improving the reliability of SMD-based studies. In addition, integrating multi-source data is a promising approach to mitigating the data quality problems.

Despite the high value of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs), the global collection has seen limited use. To extend such use, a new approach to building digital libraries (DLs) is needed. Fortunately, recent decades have seen that a vast amount of “gray literature” has become available through a diverse set of institutional repositories as well as regional and national libraries and archives. Most of the works in those collections include ETDs and are often freely available in keeping with the open-access movement, but such access is limited by the services of supporting information systems.
