The main aim of the present study is to analyse the magnitude and consequences of floods in the Puthimari River Basin of Assam, particularly from the second half of the 20th century to the 1st decade of the 21st century. An attempt has been made to study floods from 1958 to 2008. The hydrological data such as water level and water discharge have been collected from two different sources depending on its availability.
