Dr. Cowden is a general pediatrician at Children’s Mercy, where he serves as medial director of the Office of Equity and Diversity. He is the founder and co-director of CHICOS, a Spanish language training program for bilingual pediatric residents, and Enlaces, a resident medical Spanish course. He is also medical director of a series of interpreter education courses in medical Spanish. In his bilingual clinical practice, he serves Spanish-speaking families from throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
