In defining anti-Blackness, the article provides perspectives from educational literature, research, and personal observations before providing a challenge to SHAPE America and all professionals involved in efforts related to the promotion of quality physical education.

Urbanization and land use changes have a negative effect on streams often causing numerous physical changes in stream morphology, a change in nutrient concentrations, and altered ecosystems contributing to a loss of habitat, decreased biodiversity, and loss of stability for ecosystem function (Walsh et al., 2005; Meyer et al., 2005; Cardinale and Palmer, 2012). The use of stable isotope analysis for monitoring could be valuable because it accounts for temporal integration from anthropogenic wastewater inputs, characterized by a shift in the abundance of ¹⁵N. Each Fall and Spring semester, the UGA Science Library hosts a series of workshops for undergraduate and graduate students during one consolidated week focused on research needs. In the past year, librarians at the Science Library noticed a large and growing need for research and wellness support for our STEM graduate students. This led us to begin to collaborate with the graduate school, University Health Center, and other science and medical librarians. Through this collaboration, we reconstructed our semesterly workshop series to be tailored specifically to STEM graduate students. The CUNY (City University of New York) Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) has a small group of postdoctoral science students who are primarily onsite for lab work. I was asked to develop a series of library workshops that would appeal to both the ASRC students, and the more traditional grad students at the Graduate Center (GC) main campus. We can effectively mentor if in possession of qualities to empower mentees, which include: effective communication skills, knowledge of the professional realm, enthusiasm, passion and the ability to create an equitable and supportive organizational environment with the mentee. The authors of this article propose that self-talk (ST) or inner speech is a helpful means of inspiring mentors, colleagues, teachers, and friends in navigating communication challenges with themselves and others.
