Mutualism At Work: Redefining The Library's Role In The Everyday University Process, Keri Baker, Jaime Goldman

Staff Presentations, Proceedings, Lectures, and Symposia

The Halmos College of Natural Science and Oceanography at Nova Southeastern University has been at the forefront of open accessibility and transparency of scholarly output for the institution. As one of the pioneers for the institutional repository, NSUWorks, Halmos College has been able to make great headway in creating new opportunities for the students, staff, and faculty to create and showcase their research. Connecting The Dots: Defining Scholarly Services In A Research Lifecycle Model, Sai Deng, Andrew Todd Oct 2016

Connecting The Dots: Defining Scholarly Services In A Research Lifecycle Model, Sai Deng, Andrew Todd

Andrew Todd

Librarians at the University of Central Florida (UCF) Libraries have created a visual model depicting the cycle of research at an institutional level while embedding scholarly services into the flow. The Research Lifecycle is used as a basis to build a framework for the faculty research process and gain both support and funding for new infrastructure and services. The UCF Research Lifecycle includes four sub-cycles: a planning cycle, a project cycle, a publication cycle and the 21st century digital scholarship cycle. In each cycle, supporting services are added to the research flow. Amid the existing services provided by different university …

Our framework for services entails three components: products, support, and benefits. Products are tools used in creating …

Creating A Knowledge Map For The Research Lifecycle, Sai Deng, Xiao Hu

Faculty Scholarship and Creative Works

In this study, a Knowledge Map (KM) was created based on the Research Lifecycle at the University of Central Florida to provide campus-wide services and resources to researchers. The KM aims to meet the needs of researchers and delivers guided searching and assistance in all aspects of research, including literature review, citation management, research data management, grant management, research work publication and dissemination. It elaborates the research processes and their associated services as presented in the Research Lifecycle, and links these points to various campus resources including those provided by the University Libraries, the Office of Research and Commercialization, the …
