Print Media Representation Of Nigerian Women In The News: A Study Of Four Selected National Newspapers, Aladi Alice Jonah, Okoro M. Nnanyelugo

This study investigated newspaper representation of women in the news. A total of four newspapers were studied. They are Vanguard, The Punch, The Guardian and ThisDay. The duration for the study was three years (January 1st, 2015 to December 31st, 2017). The study was guided by three objectives and two hypotheses. Content analysis was used for the study with the code sheet as the instrument for data collection. Simple percentages were used to answer the research questions while the chi-square test of independence was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The result showed …

Present study is based on newspaper reading habit among the students of University College Kurukshetra. The study shows the level of newspaper reading habits of students. On May 1, 2003, standing in front of a banner declaring “Mission Accomplished” aboard the warship U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, President Bush announced an end to major combat in Iraq, referring to the war as “one victory in the war on terror.” Over seven years later, on August 31, 2010, President Obama in a televised speech also announced an end to the combat mission in Iraq. On October 21, 2011, President Obama once again reaffirmed that U.S. military personnel would be leaving Iraq, saluting the troops on their “success” and remarking on the Iraqi government’s readiness for governing. Facebook (FB) has since its birth in 2004 as a site for students on Harvard campus grown to become one of the largest site on the net at all, both when it comes to writers and readers across ages, genders, cultures and continents and one may wonder if FB is a document without borders at all and if it is a book as it claims in its name.
