This OER contains the materials to adapt 'The Cost of Research' display created as part of Chester Fritz Library's programming for the 2021 Open Access Week. It demonstrates how much it would cost a reader without access to institutional resources to obtain the research underlying a single short academic article. It also looks at how much it would cost to flip those same resources to open access based off their publishers' current APC charges. This display could best be used as part of educational programming focusing on the economics of scholarly publishing.

A framework developed collaboratively between UND librarians and focused on exemplar, process, and structure provides a starting point. After a three-year renovation of the Chester Fritz Library, the presenters were tasked with reviewing the building for updates done and how they addressed needs within the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This presentation covers pre-renovation concerns, what changes were made, the process used to determine the criteria if an issue had been resolved, and what their next steps are going forward.

Receiver apprehension is the anxiety patrons feel when approaching someone for help. There are different types of ways in which people process information, some of which can be a detriment to the person hoping to learn something or just have a question answered. This presentation looks at the different styles of listeners and how librarians can utilize this knowledge to better meet the needs of patrons coming to the reference desk for assistance.

With the rise of the digital language archive and the plethora of referenceable content, a critical question arises: “How easy is it for authors to use existing tools to cite the content they are referencing?” This is especially important as people use archived materials as evidence within published language descriptions.
Archived resource metadata is well discussed in language documentation circles; however, bibliographic metadata and its accessibility are less discussed. Discoverability metadata, a subset of archived resource metadata, serves aggregators like OLAC by declaring a resource exists.
