The paper is basically a bibliometric study based on 4993 citations from 53 PhD theses under four sub-subjects of Economics viz. Indian Economics, Rural Economics, Economic Developing and International Economics). The aim of the study is to carry out a citation analysis of ten most prolific academic scholars in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS) in Nigeria and also determine their authorship pattern. Google scholar database was used in searching for articles published from 2000 to May, 2018. Ten academic researchers in the field of LIS in Nigeria were studied.

The paper presents citation analysis of PhD theses awarded during the period 1986-2015 in five sub- subjects of Political Science under the University of Burdwan. The study is based on the 7711 citations collected from 56 PhD theses of five specific subjects’ viz. Administration, Indian Politics, Political Sociology, International Relation and Political Thought under Political Science.
