This collection features world maps with a focus on the Southeastern US. The collection was collected by the Russell Library and Special Collections. Many of these maps were orginally in the library's circulating collection.

The inclusive dates of this collection are 1588 to 2001.The bulk dates of this collection are 1900 to 1970. These materials vary in size with the majority being being oversized. The majority of the maps in this collections are orginal with a few reproductions.

The collection contains several of the books written by Torrance on creativity and gifted children. These materials are from the 1960s and 1970s. There are a number of scholarly articles written and published by Torrance, as well as copies of digests, journals, and books series where Torrance's articles and works have appeared. The collection's strength is mainly in the area of Torrance's work in the field of education. There are no personal letters, memoirs, scrapbooks of photos, or personal journals. Though this collection encompasses 1953 to 1990, the most comprehensive records are found from 1953 to 1971 and from 1973 to 1977. Materials from other years are less detailed and systematic in comparison, with seeming gaps in recording.

The meeting minutes provide an inkling of the community issues with which the area pastors concerned themselves. Correspondence included in this collection may elaborate on some of those issues. Church and pastor member listings also comprise the minutes. Financial records, as well as minutes, reflect the programs supported by the Ministerial Association. The minutes of the meetings of the Milledgeville Audubon Society range from its inception in 1930 through November of 1968. The society first met at the Baptist Church on December 8, 1930 with 8 members. At the 2nd meeting on January 5, 1931, the "Constitution" was presented and adopted. In the beginning, it was also called the "Bird Club." The main purpose at the onset of the society was for the protection of migratory birds, and teaching young people about the preservation of birdlife. The M.A.S. was a member of the Georgia and National Ornithological Societies.
