Supplementing The Swot Matrix For Personal Growth And Leadership, Irene Owens

Library Diversity and Residency Studies

An integrated approach to personal growth and improving leadership skills is addressed in this article. These approaches include a personal SWOT analysis strategy using (1) defining strategic outcomes, (2), brainstorming strengths and weaknesses, (2) examining opportunities and threats, (3) examining cross-quadrant relationships, and (4) developing an action plan using a timeline. The second strategy includes updates to ones’ environment, and the utilization of Diversity Standards developed by the Diversity Committee of ACRL which may be integrated into SWOT.
