It has long been a librarian role to provide access to books, serials, and media, as well as library instruction to support learning and access to information, whether in a K-12 school, college or university, or public library. Some materials and services, such as library instruction, have traditionally been available in the library only, but the world as we know is changing. Higher education’s movement towards online and hybrid learning has caused academic librarians to move their instruction online also. Having hard data about your scholarship to support your tenure or promotion dossier is crucial. Documenting the statistics of downloads and citations of your scholarship as well as the rankings of the journals you published in can help to support the scholarship area of your dossier. Some publishers will allow you to log in to their author services site to download statistics yourself, but others may need to send it to you. In addition, to give your work greater exposure, you can deposit copies of your works in our Digital Commons, where it can be seen by scholars around the …
