This article highlights significant books in English in botany or the plant sciences published from 2008 through 2012. Selections were based on consultation with a variety of botanical and plant science literature experts as well as generally positive reviews in book selection sources such as Choice or leading journals of biology, botany, and the plant sciences. Books covering any form of green plants as well as algae were eligible for selection. Those dealing with fungi were not included, nor was landscape architecture.
