For many years the media has been dominated by whites, showing disregard for the minority population of the United States. The media of the country lacks diversity with race and gender. This study focuses on the newspaper, radio and television media in the local area and compared its employment of African American women to the national averages of employment for the United States. Because the media is Louisiana lacks diversity, the opportunities for employment for African American females are slim.
