This study was designed to investigate how employees and/or their families "fit" or "match" with organizations. Family Organization (F-O) fit was proposed as an extension on Person-Organization (P-O) fit, while also drawing from the work and family literature. A scale was created to measure F-O fit, and it consisted of complementary and supplementary items.

The experience of stress in the workplace is becoming an increasing concern for employees and organizations alike, as research indicates that consistent exposure to stress is associated with negative physical and psychological reactions such as insomnia, depression and high blood pressure. This study seeks to evaluate the effects of social support on the stress-strain relationship and factors that may impact the effectiveness of social support in reducing the workplace strain.

The Effects Of Procedural Justice And Work Overload On Job Performance, Seana Maria NuñEz

This thesis explored the relationship between work overload and procedural justice on job performance. It used planned comparisons to test three hypotheses, which were tested by having the participants (N=132) randomly assigned to groups and perform a proofreading task in two timed intervals. The study design used quantitative methodologies and the procedures and measures were piloted before data collection. A participant exit survey was also employed. Suggestions for future research and study are discussed. The proofreading samples, the exit survey questions and the Mini-Marker Personality Inventory, the informed consent form, and results tables are included.

Moderating Effects Of Tolerance For Ambiguity On Role Ambiguity And Stress: The Impact On Feedback Seeking Behavior, Lorissa Ann Grant

This thesis examined factors related to employee (particularly new employee) stress. In particular it looked at stress caused by role ambiguity. It looked at the moderating effect of tolerance for ambiguity on the relationship between role ambiguity and stress. It also examined the indirect effect of feedback seeking behavior to gain desired role clarity as an intervening variable on stress level.
