My journey to pursue career in healthcare leadership helped me realize how crucial it is to understand the role of a leader in delivering a better care for the patients. To gain that experience, I reached out to the president of Mount Carmel East (MCE) hospital for a practicum opportunity under her staff. I worked with the executive team and other senior leadership team at MCE during my practicum. The strategic planning department at Nationwide Children’s Hospital works to plan and make decisions regarding the wellbeing of patients with behavioral health disorders. This project involved an 8-hour workday everyday Friday and on site involvement in the strategic planning department at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. During this process, I was able to support providers specifically in the Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit (YCSU), Nursing Staff in BHP, President & Vice President of Behavioral Health.
