Agricultural drought occurs in various irrigation areas in Indonesia, one of which is the Jatiluhur Reservoir’s irrigation area. Agricultural drought in this area occurs due to several factors, including the natural phenomenon of climate anomalies which causes the length of the dry season, and also due to less optimal irrigation networks, damaged networks and other obstacles. But, not all agricultural land in the irrigated area experiences drought. Agricultural land affected by drought is important to know its spatial and temporal distribution to determine priority locations in drought disaster management, especially on agricultural land. Therefore, this study aims to examine the …

Bruno Latour's Constructivism And Its Implications For The New Agency Of Sociology, Robertus Robet, U. Abdul Rozak R

Masyarakat, Jurnal Sosiologi

Abstract

Latour removes the boundaries between natural sciences and humanities. Science for Latour is cultural practise, at the same time in every cultural practice, nature and objects are also actively involved. In that sense, Latour's constructivism encourages the emergence of non-human actors as drivers of the societal changes. By that, he provoked sociology to expand its subject matter. The Social in sociology must be seen as an association involving human and non-human actors.

Key words: Constructivism, Expansion of agency, actant, actor network theory.

The SWI is explained based on the extracted salt concentration from the dissolved soil. Here, this study used 24 samples of salt concentration, namely salinity samples collected by systematic random sampling and divided into two groups: ground control points (GCP) and independent checkpoints (ICP). Two interpolation methods, namely IDW and Kriging, are used to make a spatial prediction of the SWI, and their results are evaluated based on their accuracy by observing the root mean …

Managing Ethno-Nationalism Within Special Territorial Autonomy Policy: Comparative Cases Between Aceh And Papua, Wasisto Raharjo Jati

Jurnal Politik

The implementation of special autonomy regions is how the central government acknowledges the uniqueness and significant contributions of specific regions to Indonesia. The acknowledgment is then accommodated within special autonomy policies. Starting with Papua in 2001, there are eight provinces with special regions. Despite having a special autonomy status, those provinces may have more problems. The issues are mainly the historical root of integration with Indonesia, resource inequality, and the genuine representations of indigenous people as officeholders. These three issues have been common problems in Indonesia since the up-and-down relationship exists between the central government and those special autonomous regions. …

No longer locked in a dominant-subordinate configuration, the interaction between both institutions intensified in areas where they intersect. Drawing upon the theory of Strategic Action Field (SAF), this study attempts to capture the dynamics along the newly-established trajectory. It shall be argued that far from being one-dimensional, the relationship between both institutions has been marked by conflict, competition, and cooperation; depending on the SAF. “Narimo Ing Pandum”: How Highlander Women Perceive Poverty As A Destiny In Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, Wasisto Raharjo Jati

Masyarakat, Jurnal Sosiologi

The Javanese proverb “narimo ing pandum”exemplifies a belief among poor people to accept their impoverishment as the Divine will of God. This belief, however, has the adverse effect of habituating people to accept poverty. Such perception is conditioned, among others, by the availability of state-provided social aid as well as family or community support, which has helped the poor to stay afloat in moments of crises. In a patriarchal society, poverty poses even more risks and challenges for women, who are often conditioned to be reliant on men to survive. As such, poor women are likely required to find …
