Effects Of Cleansing Powder On Aerobic Biological Treatment, Thongchai Panswad, Suporn Vimolvatveti

Applied Environmental Research

This study was designed to investigate the effects of cleansing powder on the efficiency of the on-site or household activated sludge treatment units. Both acute and chronic toxicity were studied in term of chlorine content in the cleansing powder. An activated sludge model was constructed and the effects of chlorine on the treatment efficiencies of this model in term of BOD,COD,MPN and plate count were investigated. The study on acute toxicity showed that at chlorine concentration of S mg/cu.dm. the efficiency of the system was as high as 95 and 93 percent BOD and COD removal, respectively. A decrease in …

Haevy Metal Accumulation On Sediments Of The Four Rivermouths Draining Into The Upper Gulf Of Thailand, Varavit Cheevaparanapivat Jan 1979

Haevy Metal Accumulation On Sediments Of The Four Rivermouths Draining Into The Upper Gulf Of Thailand, Varavit Cheevaparanapivat

Applied Environmental Research

Accumalation and distribution of heavy metals namely, zinc, lead, mercury, cadmium and manganese in sediments of the four ri vermouths draining into the upper Gulf of Thailand were investigated. The concentrations of mercury, lead and zinc were found to be highest in sediments of the Chao Phy a ri vermouth. Cadmium and manganese concentrations were found to be highest in the Bang-Pakong and Tha-Chin rivermouths respectively. Mercury, lead, mangnaese and zinc were also found to have a negative correlation in their concentration with the distance Chao Phya rivermouth.

Influence Of Nickle On Batch Activated Sludge, Suthirnk Sujarittanonta Jan 1979

Influence Of Nickle On Batch Activated Sludge, Suthirnk Sujarittanonta

Applied Environmental Research

A slug fed batch reactor system was operated to determine the effects of nickel on the completely mixed activated sludge process. The model units were located in a constant temperature room maintained at 20° + 2° C. The batch reactors were operated under acclimated and shock loaded condition with various nickel concentration to determine the rate of COD removal, COD remove! efficiency biokinetic constant Y , and nickel uptake. max Based on the results obtained, it is clearly possible to see the influence of nickel on COD removal rate, COD removal efficiency, biokinetic constant Y , and nickel uptake at …

Studies On The Intellectual Development Of The Children Residing On A Road Overlaid With Old Batter Casing At Bangkru Canton, Pra-Pradang, Wasna Sornmani Jan 1979

Studies On The Intellectual Development Of The Children Residing On A Road Overlaid With Old Batter Casing At Bangkru Canton, Pra-Pradang, Wasna Sornmani

Applied Environmental Research

The intellectual function of children in a small village, whose houses were situated along a road overlaid with battery casing was investigated. Sixty children between 0 - 15 years of age were studied, divided into three age groups, 0 - 3 years of age, 3 - 6 years of age and 6 - 15 years. Testing was carried out using the Denver Developmental Screening Test for the youngest group, the Standford-Binet Form L-M for the 3 - 6 years group, and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for the school group. The Bender-Gestalt Test was given to examine neuropsychological function. All groups …
