An old concern is to know why some economies grow faster than others. Here we measure the human capital, one of the factors identified like fundamental to understand the economic growth. The accumulation of two indicators at the Mexican state level is estimated and studied along 1960-2008: one in the total economy and related to the industrial sector the other one. The results show the state differences that prevail in terms of human capital and highlight a very low mobility of entities in the accumulated human capital ranking, indicating a very persistent process of inequality.
