Students who decide to study abroad experience great transition as they adapt from one culture to the next. Interestingly, with so many students studying abroad, it is recognizable that during this change, some students thrive while others do not. Therefore, this study explores the possible factors of what might cause students to report having a positive abroad experience. Specifically, this study analyzes Pepperdine University students to collect data and examine the effects of extraversion and subjective well-being on group satisfaction levels. In our research, we hypothesized that partners in romantic relationships who reported higher levels of similarity in communication would also express higher levels of relational satisfaction. We used Martin Buber’s theory of dialogic communication to establish the idea that people are attracted to others who are similar to them and are therefore attracted to those who share similar communication styles. Friend Or Foe? The Relationship Between Facebook Use And Satisfaction And Jealousy In Long-Distance Dating Relationships, Leigh E. Kolb

This study sought to examine the relationship between the use of the social networking platform Facebook and relational satisfaction and jealousy within long-distance dating relationships (LDDRs). With Uncertainty Reduction Theory as a theoretical foundation, we examined existing literature on Facebook’s effects on LDDRs to inform our predictions, and conducted a cross-sectional survey of 74 undergraduate students either currently or recently engaged in a long-distance relationship. Our results show that inequality in Facebook use by LD partners is positively correlated with feelings of jealousy.
