After a few years, precisely in 2017 the IASB issued IFRS 17 which was the new standard for insurance contracts. This standard improves the shortcomings contained in IFRS 4. The IASB sets limits on the application of IFRS 17 in 2021 with early adoption allowed. This study discusses the readiness analysis of insurance companies in Indonesia applying and adopting IFRS 17 and reviewing the comparison of financial statement calculations using IFRS 4 and IFRS 17. This paper presents the findings of an asset assessment performed with women in a village southwest of Nigeria, Imasayi Ogun state. This paper not only describes the process and results of a qualitative study, but also presents the implementation plan for an NGO that will work with the women of Imasayi to implement community-wide development projects. The research upon which this paper is based used the framework of seven capital domains, which are then used in turn to structure findings, recommendations and NGO planning and analysis. Drawing on four theories of practice – Communities of Practice (CoP), Bourdieu's theory of practice, Pickering's mangle of practice, and Actor Network Theory (ANT), the study provides an in-depth understanding about technology implementation practice. Analysis of an Enterprise System implementation project in a software manufacturing company reveals five stories of practice that relate to the major challenges faced. The story of mentoring related to the challenge of developing skilled analysts, and is examined by focusing on episodes about newly hired staff members.
