United Colors of Benetton, or UCB, has been using its advertisements to deliver positive messages and values that the clothing company represents. This article analyzes one of the photographs in Benetton’s campaign for their Spring Summer Collection of 2018. The campaign, which consists of some photographs by Oliviero Toscani, raises the theme of equality of gender and ethnicity. It shows various photographs of both female and male models from different ethnicities. “How to be the Perfect Asian Wife” critiques exploitative power systems that assault female bodies of color in intersectional ways. This work explores strategies of healing and resistance through inserting one’s own narrative of flourishing rather than surviving, while reflecting violent realities. Three large drawings mimic pervasive advertisement language and presentation reflecting the oppressive strategies used to contain women of color. Created with charcoal, watercolor, and ink, these 'advertisements' contrast with an interactive rice bag filled with comics of my everyday experiences. These documentations compel viewers to reflect on their own participation in systems of power.

A printed mail order flyer for Dutch Haven in Soudersburg, Pennsylvania dated 1954. The flyer features advertisements for shoofly pies and other Amish goods such as dolls, puzzles, aprons, toleware plaques and tea towels. It also contains a map of the "heart of Amish country" in Lancaster County and prints a description of Amish and Mennonite traditions.

A typed copy of two folktales entitled, "Mr. Beiler Wanted a Wife", and, "Folk Tale Medicine", dating from circa 1950. One tale describes the case of Mr. Beiler who wished to find a wife through a matrimonial advertisement but needed a photograph of himself to send in the mail. The second tale describes how a young woman was cured of her pneumonia-induced fever via salted mackerel.
