This examination contrasts the views of the Founding Fathers and Woodrow Wilson on the matter of how the President of the United States of America ought to be selected. While Wilson is commendable for his vision of empowering the rank-and-file to select their president through direct national primaries, his views directly conflict with those of the Founders. This purpose of this essay is to spark an interest in the political thought of United States presidential selection and in political theory in general.
