Drought is one of the most limiting factors for agricultural productivity worldwide (Hamdi et al., 2020). Drought stress can be simply defined as a shortage of water that causes significant changes in plant morphology, physiology, and biochemistry (Liang et al., 2020), and the most environmental stress that affect both crop production and quality (Biareh et al., 2022). Approximately, 95-98% of the water absorbed by the plant is lost via transpiration (Singh et al., 2021), so that reducing the transpiration rate could be considered as an important strategy for combating with drought conditions. This could be achieved by using compounds called …

The field Animal Production Department (College of Agriculture / Al-Qasim Green University) was chosen to conduct the project from 18/9/2019 to 23/10/2019. In it 240 chicks of Ross 308 were used. The chicks were randomly divided into four experimental trials. The leaves extracted suspension was added at 0, 3, 5 and 7 ml/liter to drinking water, and the following characteristics were studied: live body weight before slaughter and the weight of the carcass , dressing rate, the relative weights of the main and secondary carcass parts, and the relative weights of the eating giblets.
The results showed that the fourth …
The Effect Of The Water Harvesting Projects On Some Of The Economic Indicators Population In Some Mountain Villages In Latakia (Syria), تأثير مشاريع حصاد المياه في بعض المؤشرات الاقتصادية للسكان في بعض القرى الجبلية في محافظة اللاذقية (سورية), Mahmaud Yasin, Ayham Said

Arab Journal of Arid Environments المجلة العربية للبيئات الجافة
The research aims to study the effect of water harvesting projects by mountain lakes on production cost and economic efficiency for each studied crop for a sample of beneficiaries in mountainous areas in Latakia(Syria). The research sample included all farmers who use water harvesting techniques in the surveyed random selected mountain villages in Latakia, which numbered 20 villages, distributed on four areas (Latakia, Al-haffeh, Jableh and Al-Querdaha). After using Morgens Low, the sample sized 241 farmers. The data was collected by a questionnairedesigned for this purpose, but 32 questionnaires were excluded due to the lack of clarity and accuracy of …
Classification Of Phytoplankton Species In Different Habitats From The Coastal Parts Of The Sea Region North Of Lattakia, Nadim Mahmoud, Sawsan Musa
Classification Of Phytoplankton Species In Different Habitats From The Coastal Parts Of The Sea Region North Of Lattakia, Nadim Mahmoud, Sawsan Musa

Water samples were collected monthly during 1999, from four sites, of different habitats. The study revealed the existence of a total of 120 phytoplankton species, composed of 76 Bacillarophyte, 37 Dinoflagellate, 3 Cyanophyte and 4 Chliorophyte species. Moreover, the study also revealed considerable physio - chemical variations in their water, as well as considerable variations in chlorophyll a. The physio - chemical variations of water, in the four stations most likely is responsible for the variations of the phytoplanktonic species found in them and their population densities.
Thermodynamic Potassium In Iraqi Soils, Ahmed Al-Zubaidi, Shatha Al-Rubaie
Thermodynamic Potassium In Iraqi Soils, Ahmed Al-Zubaidi, Shatha Al-Rubaie
Jerash for Research and Studies Journal مجلة جرش للبحوث والدراسات
In order to characterize the status and behavior of potassium in Iraqi soils thermodynamically, twenty eight surface soil samples were collected from different locations to represent the most dominant soil groups in Itrg (put thin names) Chemical, physical and mineralogical characteristics were determined. The potassium forms of soluble, exchangeable, non - exchangeable, mineral and elemental were determined. Thermodynamic parameters related to potassium such as ionic strength, activity coefficient of potassium, activity ratio (K+: Ca2 + + Mg2 +) and the free energy of replacement (DF) of K+: Ca2 + mg2+ were …

Two protein portions from Datura inhibiting the multiplication of PVY “were obtained by filtration through sephadex G - 100. The first was maintained its activity at 60 с for 10 min; whereas the other lost its activity at this temp. The SDS- polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of the heat resistant one revealed the presence of 8 polypeptides with molecular weights; 12000 , 13000 , 22000 , 25000 , 29000 , 40000 and two other of smaller molecular weights . No serological reaction was ovserced between these proteins and the antiserum of PVA, PVS, PVM, PVX and PVY. No precipitate was observed …
Using Stable Isotope ( 13c) And C/N Ratio To Study The Effects Of Climate Change On Olive Trees, Rezq Basheer-Salimia
Using Stable Isotope ( 13c) And C/N Ratio To Study The Effects Of Climate Change On Olive Trees, Rezq Basheer-Salimia
Journal of the Arab American University مجلة الجامعة العربية الامريكية للبحوث
In this research, the impact of some climate change effects on the olive tree was studied. Specifically, the research investigated the impact of the lack of water and drought on the physiology of olive trees using stable carbon isotopic (Delta13C) and C/N ratios. Four olive cultivars including Souri, Roomi, Improved-Nabali, and Nasouhi, planted in three geographical areas with different rainfall patterns were used. These locations are Yatta/Hebron area (dry and low rainfall area with less than 300 mm/year), Jab’a/Jerusalem area (semi-dry and medium rainfall zone), in addition to the Kufer Ra’e/Jenin area (area of high rainfall, higher than 550 mm/year). …
