Detection Of Whale Acoustic Signals In The Northern Gulf Of Mexico Ladc-Gemm Database, Yingxue Gao Dec 2019

Detection Of Whale Acoustic Signals In The Northern Gulf Of Mexico Ladc-Gemm Database, Yingxue Gao

University of New Orleans Theses and Dissertations

Low-pass Fourier filter, wavelet filter, as well as matched filter detection methods were used to detect baleen whale signals in northern Gulf of Mexico data collected by the Littoral Acoustic Demonstration Center (LADC) consortium. Some potential low frequency signals appeared on the matched filter output figure. The shape of the signals is in line with one of the typical signal shapes of fin whales--vertical down-sweeps with 18s-time interval. Another shape of the signals is in line with one of the call type shapes of Bryde's whales--down-sweeps with 7s-time interval. A high-pass Fourier filter was also used to find toothed whale …

Scatter Reduction By Exploiting Behaviour Of Convolutional Neural Networks In Frequency Domain, Carlos Ivan Jerez Gonzalez Dec 2019

Scatter Reduction By Exploiting Behaviour Of Convolutional Neural Networks In Frequency Domain, Carlos Ivan Jerez Gonzalez

Theses and Dissertations

In X-ray imaging, scattered radiation can produce a number of artifacts that greatly

undermine the image quality. There are hardware solutions, such as anti-scatter grids.

However, they are costly. A software-based solution is a better option because it is

cheaper and can achieve a higher scatter reduction. Most of the current software-based

approaches are model-based. The main issues with them are the lack of flexibility, expressivity, and the requirement of a model. In consideration of this, we decided to apply

Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), since they do not have any of the previously

mentioned issues.

In our approach we split …

From Cymatics To Sound Therapy: Their Role In Spirituality And Consciousness Research, Victor Christianto, Kasan Susilo, Florentin Smarandache Oct 2019

From Cymatics To Sound Therapy: Their Role In Spirituality And Consciousness Research, Victor Christianto, Kasan Susilo, Florentin Smarandache

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

Sound is one of the types of waves that can be felt by the sense of hearing (ears). In physics, the definition of sound is something that is produced from objects that vibrate. Objects that produce sound are called sound sources. The sound source that vibrates will vibrate the molecules into the air around it. Sound is mechanical compression or longitudinal waves that propagate through the medium. This medium or intermediate agent can be liquid, solid, gas. So, sound waves can propagate for example in water, coal, or air. Most sounds are a combination of various vibratory signals composed of …

Introduction To Synchro-Chimera State, Aziza Yusupova Jun 2019

Introduction To Synchro-Chimera State, Aziza Yusupova

Acta of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

In this work we find a new chimera state in smallest chimera region, the synchronization and chimera phenomena can be alternatively occurred over time intervals.

Level Crossing Simulation Of A Queueing Model, Zhanxuan Ding Jan 2019

Level Crossing Simulation Of A Queueing Model, Zhanxuan Ding

Major Papers

Simulation of the level crossing method will be used to find approximations of the distribution of the workload for several queueing models. In particular, three different type of queueing models, with different methods of handling workload bound thresholds, will be considered. Simulation applied to workload bound thresholds is new work.

Elaboration Of The Serrate Section Of А Cotton-Cleaning Unit, R. Kh. Maksudov, A. Djuraev,, Sh Shukhratov Fdujournal@Mail.Ru Fergana State University, Ferghana, Str,Murabbiylar 19

Scientific journal of the Fergana State University

The article presents a new design of the serrate section of a cotton-cleaning unit with transporting brush drums having different diameters and grate on elastic supports with a certain thickness; the design features of the working parts of the serrate section of the cotton-cleaning unit are considered in detail, as well as the principle of its’ operation. The results of testing the serrate section are given, along which the ways to improve the cleaning effect of raw cotton from coarse litter are identified

Dynamic Characteristics Research Of Torsional Vibration Generator, Jialin Tian, Du Fan, Yonghao Zhu, Chuanhong Fu Jan 2019

Dynamic Characteristics Research Of Torsional Vibration Generator, Jialin Tian, Du Fan, Yonghao Zhu, Chuanhong Fu

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Aiming at poor drill ability and low rate of penetration during the drilling process, a torsional vibration generator is presented. The structure and the operational principle of the torsional vibration generator are analyzed according to the torsional theory. The relationships among the collision frequency, the amount of hydraulic hammer compression, the torque, the inlet pressure, and inlet flow are obtained on the basis of its dynamic model, which is established in light of the actual working condition. Compared with the example calculation, the experimental test verifies the accuracy and reliability of calculation method. The research results show that when the …
