Summer Dormancy And Survival Of Tall Fescue In Relation To Endophyte Presence, J. L. Thomas, Charles P. West, D. P. Malinowski

IGC Proceedings (1997-2023)

True summer dormancy in temperate perennial grasses is the ability to survive summer stresses by ceasing growth and senescing vegetative tissues independently of water supply, as opposed to summer-active grasses, which respond to rains by continuing growth, but senesce during droughts (Volaire and Norton 2006). Summer dormancy is a common drought-escape mechanism for Mediterranean-origin perennial grasses, but is also being considered as a potentially useful trait in semiarid to humid zones whose climates are not strictly Mediterranean, but where temperate grass survival is threatened by summer heat and water deficits (Malinowski et al. 2005). Moreover, summer dormancy may provide …

Defining The Antioxsidants Quantity In Certification Of The Chicken Meat, B. N. Sattarova, I. R. Asqarov, Sh. X. Abdulloev Aug 2019

Defining The Antioxsidants Quantity In Certification Of The Chicken Meat, B. N. Sattarova, I. R. Asqarov, Sh. X. Abdulloev

Scientific journal of the Fergana State University

The article presents an analysis of the results obtained by chromatography-mass-spectrometric studies to determine the mass fractions of certain antioxidants in chicken meat, the excessive amount of which seriously threatens human health. The advantages of this method in the certification of meat products are substantiated. It has been established that the content of alpha-tocopherol in chicken meat imported from some foreign countries is several times higher than that produced in local poultry farms.

On The Efficacy Of Moringa Oleifera As Anticancer Treatment: A Literature Survey, Florentin Smarandache, Victor Christianto Jan 2019

On The Efficacy Of Moringa Oleifera As Anticancer Treatment: A Literature Survey, Florentin Smarandache, Victor Christianto

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

Medicinal plants are important elements of indigenous medical system that have persisted in developing countries. Many of the botanical chemo-preventions currently used as potent anticancer agents. However, some important anticancer agents are still extracted from plants because they cannot be synthesized chemically on a commercial scale due to their complex structures that often contain several chiral centers. The aim of this study was to test different extracts from the Moringa oleifera leaves. Previous studies have shown potentially antioxidant, antitumor promoter, anticlastogen and anticarcinogen activities both in vitro and in vivo. Emerging evidence indicates that efficacy of Moringa oleifera in cancer …
