Research Progress Of Intermediate Layers In Ti-Based Oxide Anodes, Xiu-Li Song, Hui-Min Yang, Zhen-Hai Liang Aug 2013

Research Progress Of Intermediate Layers In Ti-Based Oxide Anodes, Xiu-Li Song, Hui-Min Yang, Zhen-Hai Liang

Journal of Electrochemistry

Titanium (Ti)-based oxide anodes are excellent anode materials which have been applied widely in electrochemical fields all over the world. Adding intermediate layers in Ti-based oxide anodes can improve the conductivity, lengthen the lifetime and strengthen the stability between Ti base and metal oxides active layers of electrodes. This article reviews the research progress of intermediate layers in Ti-based oxide anodes. At the same time, current problems existed in the field of Ti-based oxide anodes are pointed out and future development trend in oxide electrode with intermediate layers is prospected.

Influence Of Pretreatment On Electrocatalytic Property For Methanol Oxidation Of Ptru/Wc, Xiao-Ling Lang, Mei-Qin Shi, Ye-Kun Jiang, Chun-An Ma Aug 2013

Influence Of Pretreatment On Electrocatalytic Property For Methanol Oxidation Of Ptru/Wc, Xiao-Ling Lang, Mei-Qin Shi, Ye-Kun Jiang, Chun-An Ma

Journal of Electrochemistry

The surface of tungsten carbide (WC) was treated by potassium hydroxide (KOH) at different pH values for different time. The PtRu/WC composite was prepared by microwave-assisted polyol method. The phase structure of PtRu/WC composites were characterized by XRD. The electrocatalytic activity was tested by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The results indicated that with different pH treatments WC became more readily supported on PtRu. When treating WC in KOH at pH = 14, PtRu exhibited the best degree of crystallinity on WC surface, leading to the highest electrocatalytic activity of PtRu/WC. Moreover, the optimized activity of PtRu/WC towards methanol oxidation was …

Dc Microgrid Modeling And Energy Storage Placement To Enhance System Stability, Carl Westerby May 2013

Dc Microgrid Modeling And Energy Storage Placement To Enhance System Stability, Carl Westerby

Theses and Dissertations

The work of this thesis represents a joint venture between the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A DC microgrid is selected for the efficiency benefits, lack of reactive power in the system, and ease of connecting to an AC grid. The system modeling relies on physical parameters and industry standard methods for the estimation of loads and lines. An example model is created for the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee's Campus. Due to the high penetration of renewable energy sources in the example model, system stability is a concern. To help mitigate stability issues, analysis is performed …

Stability Analysis Of Time-Delayed Dc Motor Speed Control System, Saffet Ayasun Jan 2013

Stability Analysis Of Time-Delayed Dc Motor Speed Control System, Saffet Ayasun

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

In this paper, the stability of time-delayed DC motor speed control systems is analyzed. The measurement devices and communication links used by networked control systems, cause a significant amount of time delays. The stability boundary of the system in terms of the time delay is theoretically determined and an expression is obtained to compute the delay margin in terms of system parameters. The delay margin is defined as the maximum amount of time delay for which the DC motor speed control system is marginally stable. The results indicate that the system becomes unstable if the time delay exceeds the delay …
