The SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS is performed on the transformation coefficients of the Frank XYZ signals generating standard 12-lead ECG with respect to diagnosis. The analysis is adapted for the individual waveform and per each lead. The disease/abnormality categories are described in terms of discrete pattern classes based on criteria used by Marquette Electronics, Inc. The nonlinear global sensitivity analysis method developed by Shuler, et al, is selected for this project. The diagnostic change in the waveform is denoted by a distance measurement from the pattern class boundary corresponding to the best-experimental coefficient estimates (Dower coefficients) to the alternate coefficient specification measurement …

The risk for professional burnout has become commonly recognized and in the past several years has been a focus of research efforts. Nursing is one of the professions generating a high level of stress which results in burnout.

The purpose of this study was to test the effects of an intervention program for nurses who felt they were experiencing burnout. Nursing burnout was defined as a chronic condition of stress among nurses, which leads to a syndrome of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and lack of personal accomplishment. DMAOVC.BAS is a computer program written in the compiler version of microsoft basic which performs factorial analysis of variance/covariance with expected mean squares. The program accommodates factorial and other hierarchical experimental designs with balanced sets of data. The program is writ ten for use on most modest sized microprocessors, in which the compiler is available. A calibration method substitutes for measurements, X(,i), that are accurate but impractical or costly, a set of measurements, Y(,i), that are less accurate but simpler or less costly. There are two general types of calibration methods. The classical approach in which once the calibration sample is drawn, the estimates of the X values for a given unit is found without any consideration of the distribution of X values for the other units to be measured. This corresponds best to the literal meaning of the word "calibration". Maximum likelihood estimation is the statistical formulation of the classical approach.

The purpose of this study was to determine predictors of smoking behavior for the senior student nurses in the state of Alabama using Ajzen and Fishbein's Theory of Reasoned Action. Smoking prevalence by level of educational preparation and selected health behaviors were examined for relationship to cigarette use.

A sample of 11 schools of nursing were selected from Alabama's 34, using a random numbers table. There were 13 total programs as two of the schools had both A.D. and B.S. nursing programs. Thirty-two percent (N=555) of senior A.D., B.S. & diploma students nurses in Alabama responded to an 87 item …

Twenty-One has traditionally been one of the most popular casino games and has attracted much effort to accurately estimate the house's true advantage. Probability theory has been tried, but the thousands of different combinations of cards possible in all hands throughout the entire pack make it practically impossible to apply probability theory without overlooking some possibilities. This report compares the bootstrapping to jacknifing statistical procedures in terms in bias, confidence interval and estimation of median. Related literature have been reviewed. A bootstrap allows a researcher to get an approximation to the distribution of possibly complicated statistical summaries. It is based on random sampling with replacement from experimental units. Jacknife has also been in operation prior to bootstrapping statistical procedure. The jacknife divides the data into subgroups and obtains partial estimates of these subgroups by omitting one subgroup at a time.
