Porphyry Copper Prospectivity Mapping Using Fuzzy And Fractal Modeling In Sonajeel Area, Nw Iran, Zahra Yazdi̇, Alireza Jafari̇ Rad, Mehraj Aghazadeh, Peyman Afzal

Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

Main purpose of this research is to present a local scale GIS-based mineral prospectivity model for prospecting Cu porphyry mineralization, and to validate the produced model by field observation, surface sampling and drilling data. Sonajeel area which is the subject of this study is a part of Arasbaran mineralization belt, NW of Iran. Constructing a mathematical exploratory algorithm based on a mineralization type is a complicated and interdisciplinary task. For this purpose, results from processing and interpreting different data sets including geology, geochemistry and remote sensing were considered. A comprehensive exploratory integration model was built up considering the exploration stage …

Why Modeling Complex Dynamic Systems Using Fuzzy Cognitive Maps?, Peter P. Groumpos Feb 2019

Why Modeling Complex Dynamic Systems Using Fuzzy Cognitive Maps?, Peter P. Groumpos

International Journal of Business and Technology

The difficult problem of modeling Complex Dynamic Systems (CDS) is carefully reviewed. Main characteristics of CDS are considered and analyzed. Today’s mathematical models and approaches cannot provide satisfactory answers to the challenging problems of the society. The key problem of complex dynamic systems and control theory consists in the development of methods of qualitative analysis of the dynamics and behavior of such systems and in the construction of efficient control algorithms for their efficient operation. The purpose of control to bring the system to a point of its phase space which corresponds to maximal or minimal value of the chosen …

Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Controller With Predictive Control For Redundant Manipulators With Variable Payload, He Jun, Minzhou Luo, Jianghai Zhao, Linsen Xu, Li Tao

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: This paper presents an adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller with Kalman predictive control (AFSMCK) for the redundant robotic manipulator handling a variable payload to achieve a precise trajectory tracking in the task space. This approach could be applied to solve the problems caused by the variable payload and model uncertainties. A Kalman predictive controller using the recursive algorithm is presented for an accurate prediction of a variable payload. The adaptive fuzzy logic algorithm is designed to approximate the parameters of the sliding mode controller to avoid chattering in real time. Lyapunov theory is applied to guarantee the stability of …

Fuzzy Logic-Based Disparity Selection Using Multiple Data Costs For Stereo Correspondence, Akhil Appu Shetty, V.I George, C Gurudas Nayak, Raviraj Shetty Jan 2019

Fuzzy Logic-Based Disparity Selection Using Multiple Data Costs For Stereo Correspondence, Akhil Appu Shetty, V.I George, C Gurudas Nayak, Raviraj Shetty

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Stereo matching algorithms are capable of generating depth maps from two images of the same scene taken simultaneously from two different viewpoints. Traditionally, a single cost function is used to calculate the disparity between corresponding pixels in the left and right images. In the present research, we have considered a combination of simple data costs. A new method to combine multiple data costs is presented and a fuzzy-based disparity selection method is proposed. Experiments with different combinations of parameters are conducted and compared through the Middlebury and Kitti Stereo Vision Benchmark.

Application Of Fuzzy Logic On Astronomical Images' Focus Measures, Alaa Hamdy, Farag Elnagahy, Islam Helmy Jan 2019

Application Of Fuzzy Logic On Astronomical Images' Focus Measures, Alaa Hamdy, Farag Elnagahy, Islam Helmy

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Focus accuracy is an essential factor that affects the quality of astronomical observations. The accurate measurement of celestial objects' properties depends on focus. Automatic focusing is necessary for celestial imaging systems. This paper presents a modified focus measure operator. It also proposes the use of fuzzy logic to transform images because of its tolerance of imprecise and incomplete data. The focus operators are applied to two sequences of star clusters' observations. The experimental results show that the suggested measure's overall score exceeds those of previous operators.

Exploiting Stochastic Petri Nets With Fuzzy Parameters To Predict Efficient Drug Combinations For Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Rza Bashi̇rov, Recep Duranay, Adi̇l Şeytanoğlu, Mani Mehraei, Ni̇met Akçay

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Randomness and uncertainty are two major problems one faces while modeling nonlinear dynamics of molecular systems. Stochastic and fuzzy methods are used to cope with these problems, but there is no consensus among researchers regarding which method should be used when. This is because the areas of applications of these methods are overlapping with differences in opinions. In the present work, we demonstrate how to use stochastic Petri nets with fuzzy parameters to manage random timing of biomolecular events and deal with the uncertainty of reaction rates in biological networks. The approach is demonstrated through a case study of simulation-based …
