Supramolecular Solvent Microextraction Of Uranium At Trace Levels From Water And Soil Samples, Mansoor Khan, Erkan Yilmaz, Mustafa Soylak

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

A supramolecular solvent microextraction procedure was established for the separation/preconcentration of uranium(VI) (U(VI)) prior to its determination by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. 1-(2-Pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) was used to form a red chelate (U-PAN) with U(VI) at pH 10. U-PAN was extracted by undecanol in tetrahydrofuran. All the parameters that affect extraction efficiency like solution pH, amount of ligand, type and volume of supramolecular solvent, sample volume, and diverse ion effect were optimized. The preconcentration factor was 17. The detection limit was 0.31 $\mu $g L$^{-1}$. The method was validated using GBW07424 (GSS-10 certified reference material). Microextraction was also applied to water and soil …

In Situ Formed 1-Hexyl-3-Methylimidazolium Hexafluorophosphate For Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction Of Pd(Ii) Prior To Electrothermal Aas And Spectrophotometry, Habibollh Eskandari Jan 2012

In Situ Formed 1-Hexyl-3-Methylimidazolium Hexafluorophosphate For Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction Of Pd(Ii) Prior To Electrothermal Aas And Spectrophotometry, Habibollh Eskandari

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

1-Hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate was prepared in situ and used as extractant in dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction. Ultra-trace amounts of Pd(II) could be accurately determined by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) and spectrophotometry after extraction by the formed micro-droplets of the ionic liquid phase. 1-(2-Pyridylazo)-2-naphthol was used to produce a hydrophobic palladium complex prior to extraction. The effects of concentrations of reagents, reaction and extraction times, and the other parameters were investigated and optimized. Beer's law was obeyed in the ranges of 0.015-0.900 and 1.50-63.0 ng mL^{-1} Pd(II) by ETAAS and spectrophotometry, respectively. Under the optimized conditions, the limit of detection (LOD) by …

Differential Pulse Polarographic Determination Of Cadmium After Solid Liquid Extraction And Preconcentration Using Pan, Mohammad Ali Taher Jan 2003

Differential Pulse Polarographic Determination Of Cadmium After Solid Liquid Extraction And Preconcentration Using Pan, Mohammad Ali Taher

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

A highly selective, sensitive, rapid and economical differential pulse polarographic method has been developed for the determination of trace amounts of cadmium in various samples after the adsorption of its 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) complex on microcrystalline naphthalene in the pH range of 8.2-11.0. After filtration, the solid mass is shaken with 9.0 mL of 1 M hydrochloric acid and cadmium is determined by differential pulse polarography. Cadmium can alternatively be quantitatively adsorbed on [1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol]-naphthalene adsorbent packed in a column and determined similarly. The detection limit is 0.07 \mu g/mL (signal-to noise ratio = 2) and the linearity is maintained in the …
