Yukawa Couplings And Quark And Lepton Masses In An So(10) Model With A Unified Higgs Sector, Pran Nath, Raza M. Syed
Pran Nath
Fermion mass generation for the third generation is considered within a unified Higgs model with a single pair of vector-spinor 144+144̅ of Higgs multiplets. Extending a previous work it is shown that much larger masses can arise for all the third generation fermions from mixing with 45 and 120 matter multiplets via the cubic couplings 16·45·144̅ and 16·120·144 in addition to the quartic couplings. Further, it is found that values of tanβ as low as 10 can allow for a b-τ-t unification consistent with the current data. The quartic and cubic couplings naturally lead to Dirac as well as Majorana …
Light Higgs Bosons In Three-Generation Calabi-Yau Superstring Theory, Pran Nath, R. Arnowitt
Light Higgs Bosons In Three-Generation Calabi-Yau Superstring Theory, Pran Nath, R. Arnowitt
Pran Nath
An analysis of the Higgs sector is given in three-generation superstring models which arise via Calabi-Yau compactifications where the flux breaking at the compactification scale reduces the E₆ grand unified group to [SU(3)]3 and a further spontaneous breaking at an intermediate scale MI reduces this symmetry down to the standard-model gauge group symmetry SU(3)C×SU(2)L×U(1)Y. The analysis is carried out within the framework of matter parity invariance which is needed for proton stability and the assumption that spontaneous breaking at the intermediate scale is triggered by supersymmetry breaking. Conditions for the existence of …
Nonuniversal Soft Supersymmetry Breaking And Dark Matter, Pran Nath, R. Arnowitt
Nonuniversal Soft Supersymmetry Breaking And Dark Matter, Pran Nath, R. Arnowitt
Pran Nath
An analysis is given of the effects of nonuniversal soft supersymmetry-breaking masses in the Higgs sector and in the third generation squark sector, and it is shown that they are highly coupled. Nonuniversality effects on dark matter event rates in neutralino-nucleus scattering are analyzed. It is found that the effects are maximal in the range mχ̃1<~65 GeV where the relic density is governed by the Z and Higgs poles. In this range the minimum event rates can be increased or decreased by factors of ∼10 depending on the sign of nonuniversality. Above this range Landau pole effects arising from …
