Groundwater Potential Mapping Using The Integration Of Ahp Method, Gis And Remote Sensing: A Case Study Of The Tabelbala Region, Algeria, Ahmed Bennia, Ibrahim Zeroual, Abdelkrim Talhi, Lahcen Wahib Kebir

Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

Recently, groundwater resources are assessed and evaluated using Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing technologies due to their effectiveness and wide spatial coverage. This work aims to identify groundwater potential areas in the Tabelbala region which lies in the Algerian desert in order to help for the solution of water resources shortages. GIS and remote sensing are employed in the preparation of the controlling factors such as lithology, lineaments, drainage network, slope, land use/land cover, topographic wetness index, and elevation. Statistical Analysis, as well as interpretation of remote sensing data, allow the extraction of important features about the study …

Porphyry Copper Prospectivity Mapping Using Fuzzy And Fractal Modeling In Sonajeel Area, Nw Iran, Zahra Yazdi̇, Alireza Jafari̇ Rad, Mehraj Aghazadeh, Peyman Afzal Apr 2019

Porphyry Copper Prospectivity Mapping Using Fuzzy And Fractal Modeling In Sonajeel Area, Nw Iran, Zahra Yazdi̇, Alireza Jafari̇ Rad, Mehraj Aghazadeh, Peyman Afzal

Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

Main purpose of this research is to present a local scale GIS-based mineral prospectivity model for prospecting Cu porphyry mineralization, and to validate the produced model by field observation, surface sampling and drilling data. Sonajeel area which is the subject of this study is a part of Arasbaran mineralization belt, NW of Iran. Constructing a mathematical exploratory algorithm based on a mineralization type is a complicated and interdisciplinary task. For this purpose, results from processing and interpreting different data sets including geology, geochemistry and remote sensing were considered. A comprehensive exploratory integration model was built up considering the exploration stage …

Determination Of Hydrologic Characteristics Of Si̇nop Demi̇rci̇köy Watershed And Production Of Monthly Saturation Degree Maps, Mustafa Can Canoğlu Dec 2017

Determination Of Hydrologic Characteristics Of Si̇nop Demi̇rci̇köy Watershed And Production Of Monthly Saturation Degree Maps, Mustafa Can Canoğlu

Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

The aim of this study is to determine the hydrologic characteristics and to analyze the temporal saturation degree variations of Demirciköy Watershed which is located in Sinop City and subjected to rapidly increasing population. This study is important in terms of preventing the natural disasters such as flood, storm water, landslide and mitigation of damages within the frame of watershed planning concept. This study consists of field, office and laboratory stages. In context of field studies, representative soil samples are taken from study area. Within the scope of laboratory studies, soil hydrologic properties are characterized with the determination of soil …

Orogenic Gold Prospectivity Mapping Using Geospatial Data Integration, Region Of Saqez, Nw Of Iran, Alireza Almasi̇, Alireza Jafari̇rad, Peyman Afzal, Mana Rahi̇mi̇ Jun 2015

Orogenic Gold Prospectivity Mapping Using Geospatial Data Integration, Region Of Saqez, Nw Of Iran, Alireza Almasi̇, Alireza Jafari̇rad, Peyman Afzal, Mana Rahi̇mi̇

Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

The aim of this study is to map orogenic gold prospecting areas in the region of Saqez, NW of Iran. In order to achieve this task geological, geochemical and airborne geophysical data are analyzed and integrated using index overlay and fuzzy logic methods. Geological map of Saqez (1:100.000 scale) is used to assign lithological weights based on their favorability for hosting orogenic Au mineralization. Also a fault density map is produced and assigned based on the structural map which is included in the geological map. For preparing geochemical evidence maps, data from 535 stream sediment samples are examined using Number-Size …
